New toolkit for World Physical Therapy Day 2018 is launched
The brand new toolkit for this year's World Physical Therapy Day is now available. With a focus on the role of physical therapy and physical activity in mental health, the toolkit includes a set of campaign materials including:
The materials are available in English, French, Spanish and Chinese. They will also shortly be available in Arabic. If you are able to assist with translations into other languages please email info@wcpt.org.  
Registration for WCPT Congress 2019 opens
Registration for the WCPT Congress 2019 is now open - register before 31st October to benefit from the Super Early Bird rate.

WCPT awards programme - final call for nominations
There is just over one month left before the deadline for nominations on 31st August. WCPT is calling on its member organisations, regions and subgroups to submit nominations for physical therapists who have made an outstanding contribution to the profession internationally.

The awards will be presented in Geneva at the time of the WCPT General Meeting and Congress in 2019.

Advocacy success in Taiwan
At the invitation of the Taiwan Physical Therapy Association (TPTA), WCPT Chief Executive Officer Jonathon Kruger recently visited Taiwan advocating for physical therapy and the role of WCPT.

During the visit Jonathan met with several Taiwan politicians, as well as delivering a series of advocacy workshops for members of the TPTA and workshops on preparing to lead change to physical therapy students.

Suh-Fang Jeng, spokesperson for the Executive Board of TPTA, said: ‘Jonathon has provided global perspectives when meeting with Taiwan government officers to advocate more PT autonomy and international participation. We have carried on the momentum and look forward to a better practice model.’

Free SCI MOOC - starts 30 July
Following its earlier success the SCI MOOC, run in conjunction with the International Spinal Cord Society, is being made available once again. The content is now available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
 
The course is aimed at physical therapy students and physical therapists with little or no experience in the management of people with spinal cord injuries.
 
Course dates: Starts 30th July 2018 for 5 weeks with a time commitment of approximately 5 hours per week.

Physical therapists celebrate LGBT+ pride
Physical therapists from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapist’s (CSP) LGBT+ network took part in the annual Pride in London parade on 7th July. The parade is a celebration of LGBT+ pride and raises awareness of LGBT+ issues.

In Sweden, physical therapists have taken part in the Stockholm Pride parade for the past five years and are expected to take part in this year’s parade on 4th August.
