Inspired by experience from England and Japan, we wish to establish an association of students of physiotherapy. We supposed this will lead to better foreknowledge of students and subsequently to increase of students~ activity, creativity and self-activity. The student association could better fight for students rights, could offer opportunities which is hard to get for a single student. When students finish their studies, they have information about problems in physiotherapy in CR and in other countries.
In Britain, in every school, the committee of students of physiotherapy is elected (there can be found some similarities between British model and students~ academic senate in our universities). From the school committee, one student is voted in “national students committee”. The national students committee deals with academic, ideational and social problems. The committee has power to contact the educational department of CSP, the central committee of CSP, and to contact even individual schools. The students committee works within the CSP (British professional organization o physiotherapists). CSP releases many informational materials, provides internet services, etc. (in Britain 100% of students becomes a member of CSP from the first year of their studies). We think, the use of this model is one possible way to establish a students´ committee by UNIFY CR. We welcome any other ideas about this problem.
The idea of international organization of students of physiotherapy comes from Japan. International organization of medical students is very active, so why students of physiotherapy could not have such an organization. Organization of students of physiotherapy was founded in many other countries (the USA, Canada, Australia, Argentina, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Malta, and Malaysia).

To establish functional students~ organization we need to accomplish those tasks:

  1. Create a database of students email addresses, inform students about new organization and about the opportunity of becoming a member (use notice boards in schools, information in Bulletin), ask teachers for cooperation. So, if you are interested, please contact us!
  2. Create basic structure of student organization, establish the way of communication (choose the main coordinator; work on structure of organization: student committee, school representative; achieve an effective communication: e-mail, Bulletin). So, if you have any idea, please, contact us.
  3. Create work groups for each of problematic area (find volunteers ready to work, create a plan and begin to work on problems), present information on www pages, on notice boards and in Bulletin and in this way support already active students and recruit new students. If you are interested in work in one of groups, please, contact us!
  4. The UNIFY will support activities of the students´ organization. For example, the UNIFY can offer information services, possibility of presentation of students´ organization activities on the UNIFY web pages. The UNIFY can release informational brochures and other small publications. The UNIFY can organize training courses etc.
